skimmer help

i just got my super skimmer and i tryied to mount it to my tank and it keeps overflowing and i found out that the tube that bring the water back in the tank cant be cover with the little black cup witht he foam inside because thats what cause the the skimmer to overflow what should i do to make it stop overflowing?

Got any pics?...is there anyway to adjust the flow in and out of the skimmer?

as nano said if there is a way to adjust the flow you wanna do that. its overflowing cause your not getting enough contact time with the pollutants (proteins and crap in the tank) and the bubbles. its pretty much just pushing water up into the cup right.

is there anyway for u to reduce the flow. im not to sure on how to use the coralife but there might be a way to modify it to place a ball valve so u can tweek the flow i think that how u do it. ask spykes he would no exactly what you would have to do...
