no phosphate but nitrate

is it posible to have zero phosphate and 5 nitrate..well thats my problem nitrates.....i just add a bigger skimmer to i will give it a week or two to see if their any differents in the reading.

Phosphate and nitrate have nothing to do with each other, you can easy have high nitrates and low or no phosphate. 5 nitrates aren't that bad.

If you have diatom, you have phosphate. What teskit are you using? Leon, give the skimmer some time, reduce feeding a bit, and the nitrates will go down to 0. Make sure you clean the air hole on the sedra pump frequently. It gets clogged with salt and greatly reduces the performance of the skimmer.
