Con Ed said that the salt has eroded the lines and shorted the system again. 8 to 24 hours for us Park Slopers. Hope everyone has their backup power plans in place!

At least 3 outlets in my place work. The fridge, the stove and my tank!!! How perfect!

thats interesting, a partial outtage in your place. do you have like 2 separate meters or something??

I am in queens and i'm getting flickers here and there. I'm sure all this water runoff has alot to do with it. This time around i am prepared if there's another outage. Good luck to all.

i am in queens and the lights around the house are flickering too. i thought it was the bulbs but then realized its in every room especially the ones on a dimmer with incandescents.

i can just imagine all the corrosion thats starting down there around the sewers and UG power lines.

stay away from the manholes!!

Turns out it was local. Con Ed was here within two hours and setup shop down the block (Douglass Street).

I was told that I have a two system setup thus partial poweroutage. It seems like old buildings are fed by two systems!?

I;m not an electrician but it's back on! Yeay! Guess I should come up with a backup strategy other then crossed fingers....
