i am not sure the fish see so clearly beyond the walls of glass - their eyes are for seeing through water, not air, just as our eyes are for seeing through air, not water. ...on the other hand, considering the fact that we can see into the water thanks to the glass, i wonder whether they can see into the air thanks to the glass.... I am really not sure about this - but what I can tell you is that fish have no brains. The upper encephalization of fish is not quite what it is in humans - they have a neural net, but not a developed brain. What is outstanding is that many fish have personalities, considering the fact that they don't so much have brains..... So when they see you naked, or any of us naked, the probably think... FOOD??????? We getting FOOD???????? FOOD FOOD FOOD FOOD FOOD - oh. he going. no food. ![]() just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming..... |

I think large marine fish have a great comprehantion of their surounding and their feeding patterns. I am sure they understand that the hand thats cleaning the tank is that hand thats gonna feed me in a few hours... ![]() |

My tanks are across the room from each other and when I am feeding the first tank the fish in the other tank are definitely watching as they all gather up at the top waiting for me to cross the room to feed them too. I've read many accounts of Oscars getting upset when you rearrange furniture/things in general immediately to the outside of their tanks. They seem to consider anything surrounding their tanks as 'part' of the tank. They will sit on the bottom and pout for days after a change. Who knew?...
