I have to ask, why would you want to pay a guy $20 mil a year when he only batted .222 ? just say no to jones!!!! i dont care how many homeruns he can hit. the days of steve balboni and jack clark are long gone. abreu gets paid 17 mil a year and he is a much better player then jones. just an FYI.

Giambi has 1 more year @ 21 MIL.
so we are not saving anything on them. the best we could do is pay for some of giambi's contract and hope someone wants him.

Idoubt they will take wang and giambi for Santana. Wang is great but Giambi is a garbage. His baseball career is over long time ago and this is probably his last year. Perhaps Wang + some prospect in minor league is more reasonable. I doubt anyone will take Giambi with money that less than 15mil per year. Pretty muh Yankees is stucks with Giambi.

He's got a lifetime BA of .263 This year was an off year, his lowest since his rookie year. He consistently hits well over 30 HR's/avg per year. His fielding percentage is a lifetime .992 I never said to pay him $20 mil (although I know that's what he's looking for). Just because he's looking for $20 mil doesn't mean he'll get it. And if he does get it, let him get it from another team. However, if Giambi is getting $21 mil this coming year, Jones is worth it too. Although Giambi isn't worth $5 mil IMO.

No way the Twins are going to accept Giambi and Wang for Santana. Hell, I wouldn't. If anything, they'd ask for Wang AND Joba.......to which I'd say NFW.
