Party Fishing Boats in LI

I recently moved to Stony Brook and a friend is coming in from Brooklyn this week. We wanted to try a party boat our here while the weather is still good. Can anyone recommend something? The only ones I found in Port Jeff charge over $60 so Im hoping to find something a bit cheaper.

PM jackson6745. He's got a boat. Also look for the karen ann charters banner on the board. That's his boat.

Yeah I know about his charter but I'm looking for a party boat ( aka an open boat, not a small charter ).

Why a big party boat and not a smaller charter boat?

Small charter boats are more expensive. Charters often start at $300 for a few hours and you have to pay the full amount regardless of how many people you have. A party boat can cost as little as $40 for the same time, or even longer. If I had the extra cash lying around I'd always take a charter but alas that is not the case.

You'll never catch as much on a charter - in that case, you get what you paid for - whenever we went with Richie, we'd limit out in 2 hours and fish for giggles the rest of the time. Money well spent for me, but alas, not everyone has it to burn. catch more, freeze them and save on groceries :-)

If you can make it to Riverhead, there is a new boat called the Zephyr...its the boat that used to be the original Angler (out of Howard Beach). I don't know their rates, but since its a no-frills type of boat, it should be relatively cheap. Take care, Eric
