I have 2x 2.5g nano tank, all my fishes just died because of the broken power head. Now the tank is full of some kind of "micro worms". They are white colored, snail like, and they are mostly attached to the glass/acrylic. There is a bunch of these things climbing now. Are these good or bad? Should do a water change or complete kill the tank? |

Those white things are called parasites. Typically all fresh water tanks have parasites hidden in the gravel. I would usually use the python to suck out the parasites and the poop on the bottom of the tank. |

I agree and think they probably are planaria, most likely from overfeeding as a tank that small difficult at best to judge of how much to feed. I'm also curious as to what fish you had in there? Also not sure why you would have had a powerhead on there..didn't you have a filter on the tank? Best to drain & empty the tank, wash the gravel thoroughly with tap water (will kill anything living in it). Then rinse the tank with water & bleach (9 parts water to 1 part bleach), drain, rinse well & let it air dry. Then start over and cycle the tank again before you add new fish.

I'd bet they are Trumpet snails, Very hard to be rid of..All you need is 1 to have a tank full down the road. They are very hardy creatures, make sure you do a total breakdown, filters and anything else you have in that tank.. |
