Reefer Ratings: (10) Friends: (1) | Camping Recommendations
We're looking to go camping, along with some friends, next week. I was hoping to get some recommendations here. As the trip will be either 1 or 2 nights, we're hoping to find something nice on LI. Originally I was thinking Hither Hills but I read that its probably booked until Labor Day so thats probably out. It doesn't HAVE to be on LI but it shouldnt be too far a drive if it isn't. Being that there will be babies on this trip, we need something that has some basic amenities ( showers, running water if not at each tent site, at least enough of them to not have to walk an hour to get water ). We also prefer something that is on or very close to a beach so I can do some fishing. I know its probably asking too much right now but if its not crowded thats a big plus ( though I'm sure I'll have to wait until after Labor Day and go again for the seclusion ). Anyone have recs? |

Here's a real nice state park in Pa. They have cabins and semi private bath/showers. Two cabins share one bath facility. Beautiful lakes on site. Sandy beach on the lakes. Concession stands, etc. Promised Land State Park swimmer

In the link I provided, just click 'Stay the Night' and choose whichever suites your needs. I like the cabins.
