One is not necessarily better than the other. Each reef's setup dictates which works best. In your case, if you don't have room in the sump, an external skimmer would be better than an internal. |

It is incorrect to give a general statement like that, too many variables involved. I do suggest using all MRC skimmers in a sump since they are known to leak, or better yet, put them in the garbage .Figure out what fits in your application and form a list of possible skimmers, then look them up in the skimmer thread and ask people for their experience on your choice of skimmers. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
