What are my options for filtration

Im currently running an Emporer 400, but i was told 12 different things by 12 different people. The one I stuck with (because it was my only option) is If I run the emporer 400 and a skimmer i'll be fine.

What else can I look at as options from the best option to the most cost effective option.

Thanks in advance
Patrick

Look at your tank is it real dirty are you having problems with it if not then your filter and skimmer is working good.

well i would upgrade to a wet/dry over the emperor. i did that on a fish only for a while and it got difficult had to add a bunch of stuff. also a sump is another possibility. you cna usually find some other deals for cheap wet/drys on ebay.

i hope you have nitrex in your emperor 400

Yes I do have the nitrex in it, what would have to be added?

Donation Level 3
Noob for a very long time I had a penguin 330 no problems and I also ran a skimmer no problem. Then when I got a good deal on an Eheim Cannister filter I bought one. You could augment your filteration with another type of filter and keep the Emp no problem. Just an FYI if you notice a nitrate buildup someone told me the wheels could be the problem but I never experienced that, like I said an FYI that's all.
