other than sand is their another type of gravel that i can put on a 10 or 20 gallon tank? and if i decide to place a hang on skimmer on the 20 gallon tank is a prizm skimmer and a aquaclear enough to maintain a fish only with maybe one anemone and a few rocks.keep in mind im trying to go as cheap as possible. |

Sand is probably the cheapest thing you could put in there. For what it's worth anemone and "setup on the cheap" don't usually go together. First you should decide what you want to keep, then you can figure out the cheap way to keep it. Some things, like an anemone or some anthias, just aren't doable "on the cheap" |

I'd forgo either of those for a skimmer. A remora will provide you with some flow and skimming goodness, I'd then add another power head to move water around. Your rock will filter the water just fine and the skimmer will handle the rest. If' you're looking for something neat to put in the tank a shrimp goby & pistol shrimp would be a good choice. They are quite entertaining to watch. |
