What the best thing to do for a algae bloom setting up a new tank and my glass is covered with green about every 12 hrs, all i have in the tank is some frags on egg crate some snails at this rate i would need 1000 snails to controle the algae do i just ride it out and it will correct it self or do i nee to do somthing fast... or just enjoy the green glass! |

heres just a few for starters: decrease lighting period get more snails increase ur skimming hook up a phosban reactor change water more often make sure u use ro/di water check with tds at 0-1 ppm increase water flow n avoid dead spots slow drip kalk add macro algea in refug with lighting |

Perfectlly normal, don't add any chemicals. You could add macroalgae to the sump to compete with microalgae. I hope you didn't use tap water! That could be the cause of the algae's excessive growth . |
