I don't like all glass because I break them so quickly..I had to get the black plastic ones with titanium inside....Everytime I moved something around in my sump I was breaking the glass ones.... |

By temp control I think Phil means a controller like a reefkeeper or an aquacontroller and other type of controllers in that category.

Ranco's are good as well, & inexpensive. A Heaters thermostat can get stuck on high, causing your tanks temp to get extremely high. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

I have no idea why this issue has never been addressed in the aquarium hobby - IMO (and its an opinion) there is NO good OR reliable heater in the hobby. If anything, the jager's are the closest thing to consistent and safe - but try heating 450 gallons with those in a garage :-( one way or another, they break down, explode, fail, controllers stick, rot/rust in your tank etc. This would be a money maker if someone could design a close to flawless heater. lol ok good to kow i bugged out.. i got up and 2 fish were dead so i go in to scope them out and the water was ice cold it was 70 and i keep it at 80..also my aquaclear filter died out aswell.. |
