Hello everyone, I just received my 1/15 hp chiller a few days ago. I was wondering if you can tell me where exactly do you house the maxi jet 1200 that powers the chiller. Does it fit in one of the rear chambers with the pumps? My concern is that the water level drops when the pumps are on and that the maxi jet may not always have water to pump...

On another note, any advice on how to get rid of a 12 inch bristleworm? One week ago, we set up our cured live rock. After another week, we introduced ~ 20 hermit crabs and 20 snails of different varieties. After 2 nights, I saw a 12 inch, green bristleworm attack a live, healthy snail. I couldn't catch it with my rubber gloves as he quickly retracted into his rock. The other night, another bristle worm ate a living, healthy hermit crab. The live rock sat in a bucket of water for ~1 month so in retrospect I realize that the bristleworms are starved.

I don't think the bristleworm attacked the snail... Sometimes we look at our tanks from the wrong point of view... Check your levels and I'm almost positive something is not right... Bristleworms eat detritus and maybe the dead things in a system....
Happy Reefing...

You can house the MaxiJet 1200 within on of the Left or Riht Baffles. You will have to shorten the hose that connect the included JBJ Pumps to do so. I am responding from my Blaberry so I,m going to keep it short but I would suggest going with a weaker pump since the more exposure the water get to the chiller the better. Maxijet makes a 900 model I believe which will work just fine.
