I agree, someone else posted some questions on purple up and i answered about my old 65g I had ... i dosed that stuff from time to time and went through a frustrating period of the red stuff, also known as cyano ... it peels right off but if your water is out of whack it comes back with a vengeance . Also if your over feeding I have found out the left over food that sits on the rocks will also likely cause it to form as well ... Once its rectified though, as quickly as it shows it all disappears .

Stop dosing the purple stuff, likely your problem, do a nice water change, and check your water ... also if you can try and siphon it off ... won't hurt .. .
