Hey there, I have this stuff, seems to be just a combination of the stuff many people dose: Aminos Sugar Fatty acid Vitamin C Essential/trace elements. Seems like the Blu Coral method components (high AA/Fatty acid), and increase in organic carbon. I bought it about a month ago thinking that I wanted to dose only ESV 2 part, Mg, and something for trace elements just in case. At the time, I had also been researching all this other stuff folks dose :AA/Sugar/Vodka and thought this was a better way to do it because it's already 'formulated' and doesn't require a mistake of mixing and buying 3-5 different things, or buying fresh foods, etc. Probably don't NEED it, but want info. Sooo, any one use it? Something like it? Opinion from just reading the promo for the product? Constructive info appreciated. A complete additive for reef and saltwater aquariums. Formulated several years ago by the noted marine author, Albert Thiel, Liquid Gold has developed a large and loyal following of marine hobbyists worldwide. Liquid Gold contains more than 200 ingredients including amino acids, trace elements, vitamins, stable vitamin C, complex organic nutrients, major essential elements, and other additives required for growth by fishes, corals, and invertebrates. Directions: Shake well before use. Add three drops per gallon every other day (1.5 teaspoon per 55-gallon tank). For best results, a daily dosage will maintain a steady level of Liquid Gold in the aquarium. To obtain maximum benefits from Coralife products, always remember to monitor overall water quality. |

Most on here will call that stuff "snake oil" because its absolutely not needed . All the elements you need are supplied in your weekly water changes ... that is if you keep up good husbandry on your tank ... Since I am in my 6mo of my new nano I would say that so far w/o using any dosing of any kind and doing between a 10-25% water change every week to 2 weeks my tank is doing just fine and wouldn't exactly know what these types of liquids would add to my tank that i already supply ... believe me when i say that i have tried most of that stuff before in my other larger tanks and sometimes you get weird algae outbreaks and sometimes nothing at all ... but at this point i think adding supplements just take away from the natural aspect of the reef .. Good luck ... ![]()

Hey there Chris, Thanks for your response. Yeah, I figure I don't need it for the same reason you mentioned. I bought it when I was feeling the hype of all the RC/MR/ReefC/ClubSw forums with info on dosing everything under the sun ![]() I'm sure I'll experiment with it some day. It seems to have a long shelf life. Since I've never seen you before, I'll read your nano tank log. I appreciate you taking your time to say something helpful. See you |
