Thanks All. I just traded the coral. Hello All, I bought my first coral yesterday. Being a stupid noob, I thought I was buying a softy. Got it home, did some research, and realized that I bought an LPS for my pico tank -D'OH-!!. I don't want to end up killing the thing. I payed $40 for it. I would take an offer, but I would loved to trade for it. I'm interested in softies and frags. I'm in the Murray Hill neighborhood of the city. (pic was taken shortly after acclimation, buds are not fully extended in image) ![]() Last edited by Mr. Microscope; 01-10-2010 at 04:37 PM.. Reason: Traded Coral

Goniopora are very difficult to keep in general, and that one looks like it already has some tissue recession, which is pretty much the beginning of the end. you might want to go back to the store that sold it to you and ask them if you can exchange it. its a long shot but they might do it.

They didn't know it was my first coral, but the guy was on a ladder and in the tank while I was still fumfering over the decision. Kind of a hard sell I guess. I should have known better though. I've been reading and researching only softies for the last few months and not really educating myself on LPS. I didn't know it when I saw it. It is really pretty. My eyes were bigger than my brain here. Live and learn. I got it at New World Aquariums. In addition to being a pretty coral, it was also the only one I saw without any bad hitchhikers on it. Most of the stuff in that tank had green bubble algea or aiptasia on it.
