Long Island Marki's Sump-less 40 Br Upgrade

I am in the slow process of upgrading to a 40 breeder tank from a 37 gallon. Not much of an upgrade but will definitely give me more space on the bottom and more light penetration to my corals. I am going continuing to go sumpless, cause i am a simple type of guy. Here is what i will have...
  • 40 Breeder All Glass Aquarium Fish Tank
  • Outer Orbit HQI/T5 Fixture 36" 2-150W HQI, 4-39W T5 & 18 LUNAR LIGHTS
  • Fluval 304 (carbon and other media) -bi-monthly cleaning done.
  • Lots of Live Rock not sure how much in lbs.
  • Deltec MCE 300 Skimmer
  • Ocean Direct Coribbean Live Sand 40 lbs.
  • Custom Stand
  • Corals, fish and invertabrates that are currently in my 37 gallon.
  • Digital Thermometer (Tom Aquarium Products)
  • AquaClear 70 heater
  • 2x Hydro Koralia 1 powerheads
I should have pictures soon.........

to be continued...........

I am planning for the Fluval 404 with carbon to run for at least a month and two powerheads, should i turn on the skimmer? How many hours of lighting should i set on for?
