Well my tunicate was at it again between Friday into Saturday. Since I started counting intake zooids in one section of the colony January 3rd there were 26 intake and as of January 23 there were 36. So over the last twenty days 10 intake zooids have been added to one section. This is a similar trend over all sections of the entire colony.
Joe pulled in an amazing shipment from West Africa. This piece of Colangia sp. (with tunicate) was one of the many new azoox corals starting to hit our shores. Exciting year ahead for us azoox guys :sgrin:
2/14/11 my Valentine's treat that my tunicate synced up with the same blastogenesis cycle as my other tunicate. Could be just a coincidence that it happend with both tunicates at the same time but will continue to observe if there is a pattern.
Having a few issues with my aquarium stand (veneer is cracking and possible structure issue), looking into something steel or stainless to be made up. Had the idea to add a second CAD 50 onto the system since I can pick up locally for cheap. Not sure if I would like the tanks staggered (one higher than the other) or both on the same level. If staggered they would be about a 6" height difference between the two. Should look visual cool + want to hide the refrigerated feeding system. The addition is in the planning phase. Want to leave the main tank as undisturbed as possible so want to make it that I can slide it close to full onto the new stand. PITA but it can be done since we are talking about shifting less than 400lbs full.
