I want to get a case of uncured live rock. Im talking about fresh, right off of the plane, still in the box kind. Does anyone have access to this kinda rock?

If you do, please PM me with the info.

If you order a box of rock from any online vendor you will have to cure it.

Try ebay or any of the e-tailers. By the way you need a place to cure it where it will not smell up the whole place.

I want to use the uncured rock to seed 250lbs of dried live rock. I had a battle with hydroids that drove me to drink. They spread across everything in my tank. Finding no definite solution, and I tried many, I decided to take all of my live rock out of the tank, scrape it clean, dry the rock out and start over.

I plan on throwing all of the dried rock in a 75gl and seeding it with uncured rock. The reason for this is the greater variety of living organisms found on uncured rock vs cured rock. Being that I dont plan on setting up my next tank until the summer I will have several months to let the uncured rock cook along with the dried rock.

Basically, Im going to set up a reef tank just for rock because I plan on running a photo period, skimmer, water movement and water changes.

Im quite familiar with curing rock for all of those concerned lol. I made the mistake of curing my first 100 lbs of live rock in my living room when I was living at home. I put all of the rock into a 55gl tank with a Whisper 2 running. Hey, I was 16 and it was a biggest mistake . The apartment really smelled for 2 weeks straight. My mother must have used a case of Wizard air-freshener.

Now I own a home so I will be putting the rock in the basement.

we import all sorts of live rock, it is a 4 box min on most direct orders.
we have recently found some really nice Bali cultured Live rock, (barely had any smell and very little die off) that run about the same price, all in the $4-$5/lbs range. Save the reefs, buy cultured.
but we can get smaller shipments for a premium of like .50/lbs
if you want a list let me know.
