2000 grit wet sand paper and fine cut buffing compound = about $10 instead of spend 20 or 30 for the kit they sell

If you're going to do it on your own, I recommend STARTING with about 2000 grit and increasing to 3000 then 4000 then 5000 and 6000 grit to do a good job. Polishing compound inside a full tank might not be the best way to go. Increasing the grit will reduce the need to use the compound. If the tank were dry, the compound would be the ideal way to finish the job. swimmer

yes you cannot use the compound in water, actually if you give me a day or so ill do a test on a piece of acrylic i have and see how undetectable i can have it look with out compound { i work in a bodyshop }

Thanks fo all you help, I came across this site www.tropicalfishstore.com that sells a kit you can use w/ out having to drain a tank, not sure how reputable the product is???? Have any of u heard of it? |
