Shelf life of DI resin

YES, DI resin does has a shelf life. DI resin uses its usefulness rather quickly if left exposed to environmental elements such as direct sunlight or air. While our DI resin has a color changing die - this is only a indicator of the useful life of the resin. The true test is of course testing the TDS of the water coming out of your DI cartridge...fresh resin will ALWAYS have a ZERO tds reading...We rate our resin to last approximately 3,000 ppm...(the manufacturer indicates 6,000)...here is the link to our label we put on our Di resin...

FYI... Our DI resin contains Cation and Anion media that removes ALL positive and negatively charged substances, respectively. To get max life out of your DI try to keep it out of the elements in a cool dark place.

Hope this helps
Chris

Matt...although I would love to sell you more DI...If I were you I would wait on the second bag In your case. It's just too hard to keep out of the elements for 2 years...but it is possible if stored in a cool dark place...No benifit from 2nd DI on a unit....All good resin gets zero TDS...expiring Di has a tds reading of > zero. ..

Why is the shipping so abnormally high? Flat rate Priority would be way less than $30 to NYC.

Shipping is FREE (order>250)...Not sure what you are ordering...if only 5 lbs... 30 definitely sounds high...it is usually below $20 to NY,etc...call office 772-461-0256 if you ever get problems like that again. Have a nice day!

No one beats our prices

$22 to ship to NJ no thanks
What are you ordering? anything over 20 lbs cost at least $15 for me to ship. USPS rates did just increase two weeks ago...In any event call the office and tell us the reef club you are a part of and we will give you a deal on shipping...772-461-0256.

Thanks,
Chris
