Turns out its a red tailed tarmarin wrasse. Definitely a more affordable gem tang look than an actual gem tang.

Yes, and actually I think they look better than a Gem tang, the only problem is they're some what hard to keep.

yes next to impossible to keep alive . should be left on the reef but what do your wonderful brick and mortar stores care ??? it's all about the doe re me

A lot harder to keep than leopard wrasses. I think a lot of the people have had fairly good successful nowadays keeping various different leopard wrasse alive but the red tailed tarmarin wrasse are very hard to keep alive long term.
