My tank crashed several of months ago and I ended up losing most everything. I then ended up with a huge hairy algae attack. Since then I have had some professional water changes.
I have been making my own water for water changes the past few months so I can make more frequent water changes with out breaking the bank. The algae has been slow to go away and I decided to test my RO water for nitrogen... low and behold it was off the scale due to the chloamines used for water purification here. (I believe the chloramines break down into ammonia then nitrate compounts.
Is there a way to filter out the nitrates from the RO water after the ammonia breaks down?
