in my experience, i've found xenias to prefer pc bulbs over t-5's.
they were doing ok under mh, but didn't have them under it long enough to properly evaluate. mine spread ridiculously under pc's. to answer your question, base on my exp. is pc's.

My pom poms in the fuge w/ PC lighting (only 18 watts) look completely different from the pom poms in my main tank w/ MH, even though they're from the same colony.

The ones in the fuge, are still growing, but the stalks are a lot longer and they don't pump as much. They're also more pinkish.

The ones in the main tank under MH are a lot more compact, pump 24-7, and are more white.

Hope that helps.

I had them under pc and mh. under pc they were growing but not pulsing as much. Under the mh they are pumping and growing like crazy.

it seems that alot have similar experiences, does pulsing = health?

I plan on keeping a very shallow prop/fuge tank to go in line with my main tank. I want to start a prop tank to lesten the Ocean Harvesting/Raping, & want to maximize the energy used.

so this thread is like a poll now to see if 100-150W of 10K bulbs is equal for t5's, PC's & MH's for growth.

I was thinking of 12" high tank, I might just score a breeder tank & forgo making an acrylic prop.

A friend of mine had pom pom xenias grow like wild fire under tek light t5's, individual reflectors. They were on the over flow box and completely took over.

In my experience with Xenias, they've always split/branched upward toward the light. When they couldn't go any further up, they spread horizontally from that point.
