I puchased this coral last week and it looked great the first day I put it in my tank. Since then It has refused to open. Everything else in my tank is doing great. Are these corals tempermental ? I currently have it in a shady and low current section of my tank. (shading under the candy cane on right)
All water parameters are nominal.

Thanks in advance

Hi Guys,

Salt 1.026
PH 8
NH3, Nitrite, Nitrate =0
Ca 440
Alk - 8kdh
PO4 undetect

When I first put it in the tank it was out in the open. After it didnt open for a 6 days I moved it to the shade.

The LFS where I purchased it had MH but their tanks didnt look as bright as mine. Thus I thought it was a lighting acclimation problem.

Any ideas ?

I think it's still acclimating to your tanks chemical warfare.
I keep 3 different types of blasto m. and they are spaced apart from any other LPS. I would try keeping it more in the open areas of your tank, mine likes alot of light and is quite a fast grower (w/regular feedings of cyclopeeze).
Good Luck :)

Thanks for the suggestions. I switch it place with the green star polyps. Wishing for the best :)
