How to get mushrooms off a rock?

What'sthe best way of getting mushrooms off a rock without harming them?

Cut the rock without touching the shroom. This is difficult if the rock is large and is unable to be removed from the tank water.

Removing from water is no issue but the rocks are VERY BIG!

Are they some kind of anemone and they will fall off the rocks if they are in a place where they don't like it too much?

Yes they will fall off, but not all the time nor at your request, :lol: . It is easier to cut around them. IF you cut them be careful of them squirting you, it is dangerous to ingest their excretions.

chop their heads off, then epoxy over their stump. Put the head where you want it to grow and net it down. Or you could put it in a low-flow area with some rubble. Once it attaches to the rubble glue the little rock in place.

Cut the mushroom head off of the rock leaving a piece of the stalk behind. This stalk will regenerate, growing a new mushroom.

Get a hammer and a flathead screwdriver. Take the whole live rock out, to a sturdy cutting board. Aim the flathead right under where the mushroom base is, and give it a good whack with hammer. You have your self a frag with mushroom.
