i have a new open brain coral that i have sitting on a piece of live rock about mid tank (above sand i have a 55 gallon) i sthat a good place or should i place in the sand? thanks for the help you guys are awesome

i got the right watts per gallon ratio and the light is like 4 months old what do ya think?

For saltwater aquariums, the "watts per gallon" ratio is outdated as there are several ways (sunlight, metal halide, PC, T5, VHO, LED, etc) to provide light to your system.

I have one sitting on the sand and pretty happy there with MH lighting.

mine is sitting on the sand, and its under T5HOs...doing great
