When I first got into the reef thing, I always knew that I was working up to a true mixed reef tank, and it's finally happening... But I have a quick question for you -

I believe I have read and have been told that softies can dump toxins in the water when they are "pissed off" (cut open), and that the stuff they dump can really irritate SPS and LPS.

I have a HUGE efflutinaria in my tank that has attached itself to a rock that I would rather not move, but I would like to frag this coral - I can't take the rock out in order to frag it out of the water.

Suggestions? Will it be detrimental to my SPS and LPS to frag this coral in the tank? I am concerned that unfragged, this coral will just get WAY too big where it is.

Thanks!
