I have TX5 T5 lighting with Five ATI T5 bulbs at 54watts each on a 75 Gallon tank with sps/lps and soft corals. I am thinking of just using three bulbs ( 2 X ATI AquaBlue and 1 ATI Blue Plus ) for a total 162watts from 270watts.

SPS includes some acroporas, birdsnest, Stylos and Montipora. I know that water parameters besides lighting will affect sps, but will reduce lightings affects the growth and harm sps? Basically will T5 with individual reflectors of 162 watts substain or grow SPS?

I'm running the exact same fixture with 5 bulbs and having good results with SPS. But I know I can still use more light. I would even suggest upgrade let alone adding more bulbs. Nothing man made can compare to the amount of sunlight they get in the wild.
