Candy Cane.. Dying??

I have a Kryptonite Candy Cane that just lost 2 polyps... theres one left that was the biggest and looks good.. Im a new reefer and just found out like 2 weeks ago that I was suppose to be feeding it... The polyps were getting smaller so I started feeding the tank with DT's... they stuck around for 2 weeks and just vanished... any advice?..my water parameters are perfect and I have a JBJ HQI with actinic upgrades... waters at 78deg.. I want to add more corals but want to figure this out first.

Yup. Also, candy canes and other LPS are generally carnivores. DT's is phytoplankton, so it's probably not going to do a lot for your coral. Try feeding it mysis shrimp or other small meaty foods.

Tank has been running for 2 months.. all live rock and live sand

I have not tested anything else...

I feed the clowns frozen mysis, brine, and bloodworms...I also add frozen cyclops...

please advise...

I also did a 20 percent water change a week ago when i saw the heads starting to retract

You should test for Calcium, Alkalinity, and Magnesium. Also, what's your specific gravity? What test kits/probes are you using to test? How often do you normally do water changes?

I say too much light to start off - put it much lower and away from the light.
