I have a Seriatopora sp. frag that was told was a Ponanpe Birdsnest and it looks like this frag sold by Jucy Corals:

I had a frag of this species in the past that I lost during a move but it looked like this sold by Exotic Frags:

Why do they look so vastly different? I've heard differing stories about the kind of light it likes (some say very high, some say low). I 've had my frag placed about 12" down in my tank directly under a 400w 20k Radium hoping to get the coloring like the 2nd photo. Can anyone who has kept this coral give me some pointers? Does my frag look like this because I'm giving it too much light or not enough? Will I get the color I want by moving it to a more shaded area of the tank?

Thanks!
Robin
