EDIT

this thread was accidently merged with another photo thread, and the first posts are missing,
I had to unmerge them post by post :arg:

For those that did not see the original Kedd had broken up a huge colony of purple nana, now referred to as
"Kedds Nana"

He gave away a ton of frags and we all decided to see who could grow them out the fastest.

This thread picks up sometime after the frags have been given out.

We now return you to the nana growing contest frag.

I think we'll have to let everyone get there frags in place and take pics with a ruler like Kedd did.

once everyone is ready we'll try for two or three months, do you think that's enough time?

thinking more about this, to judge the growth most easily should we all cut the same size frags, from the ones Kedd gave us? I know some are larger with branches that could give them more of an advantage.

what if we each made a 1.5" size frag? let me know what you guys think.

so if i can remember correctly we have,

1.Kedd
2.jhale
3.solbby
4.slamajama
5.scottK
6.zahner
7.gforce6
8.nanoreefer22
9.deepwater
10.nycfatcow
11. piece I'm saving for regal

I'm not ready to frag the frag yet, it seems to be happy :D and I don't want to disturb it. Maybe we could measure the growth from the tips. Like measure from where the branch starts, then measure the new length a few months from now and subtract the old from the new to get the growth??

I'm on anti-fraggin mode right now, atleast in the main tank.

John,
are you saying a single frag no branches 1.5"?
Do I need to glue another?

Kedd

that's what I thought would be fair, not everyone got a branching frag.

let's do the 1.5" frag, and if people have the branching we can track that as well.

guys we need to hear from the rest of you.

can you check in and give your stats, if you don't have a camera, just give the size of the frag.

so the updated list is,

1.Kedd
2.jhale
3.solbby
4.slamajama
5.scottK
6.zahner
7.gforce6
8.nanoreefer22
9.deepwater
10.nycfatcow
11. piece I'm saving for regal
12.stingnyc
13.jackson 6745

now we have to get one to house and cali-reef lol.

good stats would be,
reactor or not, what your dosing, light and distance from the light's your using, salt,
anything else you feel is relative. it does not have to be a book report, lol, just the facts :)

okay I'll start.

lights 250 evc 10k run by electronic ballast supplemented by uri super actinics.
distance, not sure yet, still have to cut and glue the frag.
no ca reactor, using seachems reef advantage calcium (powder), reef builder for alk (powder), reef calcium (liquid), Reef Advantage Magnesium, and maybe some other seachem products, I'll update this as I go along. My salt was Kent, now I'm using Reef Crystals.

edit, how could I forget, tank is marina board bottom, high flow and has been set up since February 2005.
