Ok so i am having a problem with my DI resin and been reading on how long it lasts people in their systems. My issue is that i am changing it every 80 Gals. of water and its getting too damn expensive. anyone have any clue what is going on. and it has been this way since ive installed the r/o filter. i have a booster pump pushing it to about 80psi i flush the membrane every 2 weeks or so and the membrane is about 3 years old also tds coming out of r/o membrane is around 4 and out of DI its 0. this a 4 stage system and i change prefilters every 6-9months depending on output

How do you know the resin is used up? Color changing resin changes color twice in my experience. Within the first few hundred gallons the resin turns a little darker brown, and then as it is actually consumed, it turns a much darker color.
At first I was very disappointed at how quickly the color changed, but since TDS hadnt gone up, I continued to use the same resin. After a few months, I could see the color of the rein start much more significant color change.

the tds is going up it goes up as soon as the resin has changed color. its is 0 when it is blue then when it turns brown all the way through it jumps from 2 then 4 then 10 and so on the longer i go without changing it the higher the tds gets.

So I moved from the old place and have been here for 3 months and have not changed my resin yet. I've gone through about 90 gallons of water and still have some resin that hadn't changed.lol I guess I solved my problem thanks guts for all the advice.

Yeah I know so maybe it actually is co2 in the water I have heard a lot of people tell me that .I work for a plumbing supply company and ask one of our water treament specialists and he said it def could be over abundance of. CO2 that could be destroying the resins charge
