Better day and night time control. It's also much easier to acclimate corals to the light when you can dim them. We have 2 120w fixtures and their biggest downfall is that they aren't dimmable. If you can afford it, go dimmable

Dimmer vs. No dimmer function, what's benefit? Tia

I just purchased the 200 Watt Dimmable from ReefKoi.
Couldn't be happier with my purchase
2 Watt Leds
90 Degree optics
both white and blue are dimmable
and the owner of the company chris was very friendly

EVOLUTION LEDs for the win if you are looking for affordable Leds and cand spend thousands of dollars.

The 200 watt version is only 24 inches wide and lights up my 48 inch tank beautifully and is only about 8 inches from the water

I just spoke with someone at reefkoi. Was told that 200w led would need to be 12 to 15" above the tank to get a good spread over a 120g. If you want more of a sps domiant dt he would recommend 2 150w led fixtures.
