Narrowed it down to the pump on my tunze 9002 skimmer. Would a grounding probe helped? All the corals and fish seemed fine, but it was enough power to make me not want to put my hand in there a second and 3rd time.

Yes, a GP will help. It will help you and not your livestock. The shock you got is because the stray current in your tank found a way to reach the ground by using your body as a medium. The GP will become the medium to ground that current.

However, you must replace the pump that is bad. GP will not fix that.

Good luck.

Grounding probes do not elminate, misconception. Once you are getting shocked u have to replace what has gone bad.

years ago I received poor advice and purchased 2 probes for no reason. Skimmer pump was leaking electricity, sucked to work on the tank bare foot. New pump wass the only solution.
