I made the change from 3 X 250 watt 20K Ushios 4 X 54 watt PCs to 4 Cree Brick LEDs about 2 weeks ago.
Reason for the change are: Heat management, the cost of running MH, as well as the cost of replacement bulbs, and finally Wingo made his Cree Bricks so darn affordable for me.;)
Well as you all know I have zero photography skills so I've done my best. Pix really do not show the beautiful colors I get to see personally, but I tried.
Pix were taken under 100% Blue & 80% White LEDs with Canon Power Shot S3 IS

Love it! I see some gorgeous corals in there...how are you liking the new lights?

Thank you so much Kevin! I wonder who helped me pick some of those up.lol I'm loving the new lights! Just waiting on next months LIPA bill to really see how much I really love them.;)

Nice welcome to the LED team lol

Thank you Angelo!

How is the intensity of the lights? Is it enough for sps and clams? Lovely setup u have.
I am running the blues at 100%, and the whites at 80% because the whites at 100% is way brighter then my old 250 watt 20K Ushio MH lamps.
My clams are not complaining, and the few SPS I have are also not complaining. Everything is looking happy thus far.;) I haven't had them long enough to tell you anything more then that. LPS look absolutely incredible...

Thank you guys!

I am really loving these new LEDs. I am seeing colors that I never saw before.lol Only thing is that as I brought the whites up to 80% all those incredible colors go away. I know I can dial the whites back a little more, but then I'm afraid the corals won't have enough light.
So far all the animals appear to be happy, and that's a good thing!:wink1:

How tall is the tank? From the pic and for the inhabitants I see, they should be OK if you dial the white down for another 10%. LED has a tendency of not looking very bright but intensity is actually high. If any friend dropping by your place and has a PAR meter, it will be best to test the value to be sure.

Hi Wingo, my tank is 24" tall with the canopy being another 9.5" that puts the LEDs 33.5" down to the sand bed.:
I will try dialing the whites back 10%.:) I don't get many reefers visiting.lol Much less anyone with a PAR meter, so I will just have to pay close attention to my animals. If they're happy, I'm happy.:spin:
