Skimmers rated for 200 to 250 gallon tank

Need some ideas for a GREAT skimmer rated at 200 to 250 gallons. this vertex in 180 just isnt doing it. I would need it to fit in a 20 long tank and no external models please

I am in the same boat kind of where I'm doing a heavily stocked 180 gallon w/ 75g sump.

The skimmers I am looking at as the final decision are:

What size is your tank?

I thought I saw an i-Tech 200 around.. That would be awesome. Not 100% on size though.

i use a bubble magus 180ex i got off ebay on my 150 with a 55gal sump. and its a real beast, just not sure how much better then a in180 if at all.

maybe a bigger one, this looks cool.

I agree. You're not going to see 2x the improvement in skimming power when comparing the Alpha to a good (SRO, JNS, i-Tech, WM, etc etc) sub $500 model.... Especially bc the smaller Alpha's aren't that well balanced (the neck is too large).

nah dont like the pumps for the asm. im looking into skimmers that use the pumps specifically for skimmer,ie red dragon,bubble blaster. plus the design is old school. the newer designs are so much more efficient

500 bucks and under rated for a 200 gallon tank using a bubble blaster or a pump specifically designed for skimmers. No sedras or mag pumps

SRT 3000 is best bang for buck and with bubble blaster pump.

I am still up in air between the 3 I have decided between JNS S3, SRT3000, and Skimz, but I am leaning towards JNS as it is a bigger chamber, great pump, and should be fine.

I just got AQUAMaxx EM 200 waited about 6 weeks from Marinedepot. I order it when it was on sale but company replace the pumps to all Sicce.I paid only $234 for it. When I order it Marinedepot told me they will make up and eat the price because I order the skimmer for 160 gal model. Which the company no longer made and changed pumps. It was well worth the wait even through I didn't need a skimmer for 240 gals now. But can't complain it works awesome. Super quiet and Sicce pump only 22 watts that gave tiny bubbles that makes dark skim. Well built skimmer and very happy that I got a great deal too. I believe they are asking $299 for it now. Perfect design hope it last as it looks.
