Picked up a nice fluval tank. It's 5 gallon- not sure exactly what to do with it yet... Any suggestions are welcomed?

Posted in this section because wondering what owners of these tanks do for media and heaters. Tia for reply

The two options I'm toying with are very simple nano reef with a clownfish (kids fav) or shrimp goby pair
Or

Planted fw tank

Here is mine. Had it over a year but revamped it about 2 months ago.

Yes. I will do a build thread soon.
There is a small slit on the rear wall on the bottom left. I glued a piece of black plastic over it. I also bought Stevie t surface skimmer so I can raise the water level on tank and have better surface skimming.

If you do a reef tank I suggest an ATO. My wife would manually top off for me every day. Finally I got the auto aqua smart ATO and so far so good. I have a 1 gallon food grade container and that lasts me about a week. It can probably last longer but I don't fill the container all the way up and I don't wait for it to get too low.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do with it.
