mh question regarding bulbs/ballasts.

My mh fixture is running 175w mh dual ended bulbs. Which I was informed was discontinued.
Now would I run into any issues using a 150w mh bulb with my ballasts?

Should I expect to see any overheating issues or lower bulb life expectancy?

Where did you hear they were discontinued? ALL DE MH's or just the 175's?

Are you sure they are 175W double ended bulbs. ? In all my years of testing bulbs, I have never come across 175W double ended bulbs in the hobby.

I didn't know about the 175's myself till I found these... I'm running 150's and was worried all DE bulbs were being discontinued from the sound of the OP's first post.

It's been pointed out to me that they are likely 150's remarked but they are interchangeable it seems. As far as shady, I have purchased through Light Exports for work several times and never had any issues.

They look like 150s to me. You may be able to drive them with a 175W ballast, but at some risk. Eg. over heating would reduce life, if not well made to handle the extra current and heat, it could crack, etc.
