From the link you just posted.

With most Chaetodontids in the reef, there is the risk or coral damage. C. declivis is no exception. Early on he wiped out most of our Zoanthids, including some prized Tub?s Blues. This is the cost of such a beautiful fish. Occasionally we do see him nipping at SPS polyps, but it does not cause damage. Most of the time he picks at slime, and does not touch the actual polyp.

But who had them and took the risk and learn they REEFSAFE or no reef safe

I'm willing to take the risk if it go crazy with the coral just take him out
If it nip hear and 30min later there is a OK!

I think a key in helping the so called nippers from eating polyps etc..is to keep them well fed unless polyps are their natural food source such as Tilefish etc..this doesn't mean they won't, but it may help prevent nipping if their hunger is curtailed..now curiosity is another factor...LOL

John actually gave a lecture on Angels in a reef at one of our LIRA meetings which gave me the inspiration to try a Regal in mine. I had a few challanges ..firstly was getting it to eat.. then to eat everthing offered which it does now even pellets....while I was acclimenting it to different foods I tested it by adding different corals in with it ....as I mentioned I feed it often and so far it has been a model citizen in th DT not bothering any of the softies, LPS, zoas etc...

The larger the tank the better your chances are simply because any nipping won't be confined to a smal area and any damage will be spread around. It is good you are moving the established tangs as they would very likely kick the crap out of newly introduced butterfly fish.

Regals are an acceptable risk with SPS though zoanthids are likely toast.
