I currently have a 6" Pink Tail Trigger in my 180 FOWLR with about 250LBS of live rocks in there. Does anyone know of a good method to use to catch this fish without disrupting my aquascapping? I need to get him out this weekend:goldfish2 .....

does he eat out of your hand?

you can try the food in a net trick, I've found triggers are way to curious for their own good :D

dude i have a pink tail that is so aggressive...he goes into the net and fights it....try the food in the net idea or take a piece of silverside wave it around like its a fish in distress and he'll come out for it then just catch him....

this has worked for me i the past, don't feed your tank for a day or 2 and then empty a 2 liter bottle out or bigger, take off the wraper, make a small cut out in the bottle, but big enough for your fish to swim into. cut out a few small holes on the bottom of the bottle and then add some food to it, submerge it and then try to get the trigger to fit into the hole, then just pick up the bottle when he enters. good luck

I agree

with the in the rock thing. The only way i could get my picasso trigger out of the tank was to chase him into porous rock and take the rock out. becareful of the trigger on the top of these fish.

it took me 30 sec to catch my hippo with a refuge box that has suction cups on it and some food just don't feed two day before the best way not a lot of stress just have a screen and a rock to lock it in works every time

I finally caught the devil without disrupting my aquascape, lol....I used a half-gallon Betta tank half sub-merged with a piece of King Crab Leg and into the little tank he went and into the sump he is now....Thank you guys for all your great ideas!
