My blue/green chromis have become the most aggressive thing in my tank and are starting to turn on eachother.

I have not decided if I should get a more aggressive fish to keep them living in fear so they stay schooled or if I should just give them away as individuals.

If I were to get another fish, what is a small aggressive fish that will dominate my tank without getting too big or eating small fish like neon gobies.

Thanks,
Leslie

"Best kept in small schools, a solitary specimen will be reclusive and not get enough to eat. Their schooling behavior is one of their most endearing attributes. Unfortunately, they school less as adults, especially when they form spawning pairs. They are only aggressive when sexually active"

Unfortunately my Chromis recently started doing the same thing as Leslie's.

I have 4 of them..a few weeks back one vanished, reappeared and then vanished entirely for the past 3 weeks. He magically reappeared yesterday and someone has clearly been beating the heck out of him. He was out until the Royal Gramma herded him back into the rock pile where he must have been hiding.
One of the others is hiding behind a rock for a month and like a jack-in-the-box he pops his nose 100's of times a day & then is hidden again.

The other 2 sail around like the king & queen of the tank.

Should I assume I have 3 females of which 2 are now hiding and the 3rd is hanning happily with the male?

From what I've heard most folks end up with just 1 Chromis after the usual slug-fest. Why wouldn't we be ending up with at least a pair?

The memories, the memories! :Yikes:

I guess it wasn't just me! I put 9 chromis in my tank and all was good for a few weeks. Then 9 turned into 8. 8 Turned into 6. 6 turned into...you get my point. In the end I ended up with 1. The only good thing was that they schooled all of the time. I never did see the agression though. I guess when the lights were out it was a different world for them. Either that or they knew to behave in front of me because if caught I would take them and put them in the..................fuge. lol.
