Are skin flukes a sign of certain death for a Tang? Can they be combated before its to late? Please let me know if there is a thread here that addresses this issue. Couldn't find anything. In the mean time i will keep looking.

What I have used and with great success to bring back tangs that were really messed up was a combination of the following. I have also cured messed up angels with this stuff too. I also have a special mix that I feed them that helps to bring back color and size once cured on their illness.

1. No-Ich Marine by FishVet
2. Aqua Pro-Cure by FishVet
3. Marine Max by Tropical Science

Around the clock medication with small water changes each day has been great success for me for curing not just tangs but other marine fishes as well.

Were you treating gill flukes or some other condition?
I wouldn't put any of those products into a reef tank...IMO
If gill flukes can be eliminated with a simple FW dip, why not go the simplest easier route?

Danke again Kathy. I got a sick tang from someone in hopes of curing it. Its not in my reef. But i do have some inverts in the spare tank where he is recooperating so i won't be adding any treatments to it. If it looks any worse tomorrow i'll dip it. Right now its not to bad and it is still eating. I was told that it may have flukes, but it doesn't look that way to me. It has 4 or 5 tiny white spots on its side. The person i got it from was paranoid about it and didn't have a sick tank.
