collecting tropicals right here

hi..next month is one of the best month to collect tropicals.(late august) you should get.....butterflys....spot fin....4-eyed....painted...also red deep water big eye...snowy grouper...and if you are very lucky a black or french angel..also doctor tang..you might as well take them....because they come up on the gulf stream as eggs or fry, and there is know way back....when our water gets cold thats it for them....also a good month for seahorses.. please excuse my typing & spelling...i am a one finger man.........eddie

I remember reading something about one of the LI reef clubs having an organized event to go out collecting. Can someone Post or PM me if they have additional info, would love to go out and see what's caught. Thanks, Mike

hi nypd Frogman (frank)......NO..we retired about 7 or 8 years ago....40 years was enought...when we were in brooklyn it was very good..thats wear we had the 28 foot filter....alot of things have changed in the hobby....how are you doing FRANK... i hope very well.... i am 68 and artie is 71 ..i think...yes ..Targee street we had over 200 marine tanks there.....we sold mti & aqua cure ...that stuf was good... i just found out about this forum 3 days ago...some guy rang my door bell to ask me about his clown fish ????? and loged me on.... i am happy to be retired ...ok frank good to hear from you ................eddie.........

LIRA does it, you can find the info on their site or on RC. They usually have people along that are well educated in what can be kept and what should be left behind in the ocean.
No point in killing things in our tanks that we shouldn't have in there....
