How can you tell a true percula from a false?

I want to get another clownfish to pair with my current clownfish, but I'm not sure if it's a false percula or a true percula. Is there any way to tell the difference between them?

I don't know but if 2 potatoes were walking down the block I can tell which one is the prostitute ... The one that has I DAHO written on it

false percs have no black on them

I believe that is the difference but I could always be wrong

Ya most likely you have an occelaris, they're more prevalent. False ones have either a very thin black line or non at all along their stripe.

it's not possible to tell from that picture. True perculas sometime dont develop the thicker black lines for quite some time.

If you can get close enough to count the dorsal spines that will tell you. True has 10, false has 11

If I get a false perc that is smaller or bigger than the one that I have now and the one I have is really true perc, would they be able to get along?
