Dosing pump question

When dosing alk,cal and mag using a dosing pump with containers, can the mag be stored in the container or is it better to manually dose the mag. The reason I am asking is because the mag bottle say "shake well before using". If the mag sits in the container wouldn't everything settle on the bottom?

i stored mine in a container, results were fine. if you mixes it well, there shouldn't be any residue for it to settle on the bottom, and even if it does, the amount will be so small that it wouldn't even matter.
