ID Please

Can anyone tell me what the name of this snail is? It has a hairy shell and was crawling down the side of my tank at a good pace.

Most likely an Astrea or Trochus. I doubt it is a hairy shell. Hair is probably just algae which can be cleaned off with a toothbrush or maybe one of his friend will clean it.

No, that is its shell or more precisely, part of the animal that covers the shell ---I'm pretty sure the "hairy' part can retract . I believe it is a type of cowrie.

yep def cowrie looks like erronea caurica
