Could you give us some specifics about what you do not like about the lights ?
This may really help those who are on the fence about getting them.

Joe

I'm thinking about going back to MH lighting.I just cant seem to get same results.

(4) AI Sol Blue w controller and mounting rails.
Bought new Jan 2011 perfect condition.

I actually like these lights alot.I researched the heck and thought I made the right choice.
Since I revamped my set up I have not been able to keep any sps and don't see any new growth on anything.Granted it could be alot of things but I have tried just about everything I can think of.Water chemistry good,RODI good, etc, etc, etc.
I played around with %'s high and low.I know a par meter is right tool but I just cant justify it or afford it.
All I know is that I've had really good growth w MH lights before these LEDs.
I'm going to put one MH on one side and keep (2) LEDs on other to see if it makes a difference.
If so,they will be for sale.
I lost way to many corals at this point not to give it a try.

What size tank are you using the 4 modules on?
I've found that many people are using less then the recommended amount of modules by mounting them way high to compensate for the coverage.
When you mount them too high, they loose quite a bit of PAR and the lighting looks blended to the point of a bit washed out whereas you lose that crisp LED look.

I had 2 250 watt 14k reeflux bulbs in 2 lumenarc III reflectors.Great results.
Right now I have 4 led modules over a 120 g 4ft long tank.approx 8" above water.Overkill.
Started them at 20 and had up to 80 over several months.and now back at 50%all results were bad.watched many coral die, stuff that I couldn't kill and was thriving.
Side by side comparison should be the real test!

I have never seen a new unit go for under 500 bucks. And have never seen a pair go for 950 with controller and rails. If you sold them on Ebay, I bet people would pay anywhere from 485-500 shipped per unit. As long as they are Gen 2 and not Gen 1 unots.
