WOW i know the ph drops with more people in the house but i didnt think to that extreme..15 woman in the house for a pampered chef party and the PH went from 8.1 to 7.4.My wife cant have any more parties LOL

This is why it is always good to have some kalkwasser at hand in situations where you hold such an event. A constant slow drip would have held the PH at its normal level.

Excess CO2 in the room or area of where the tank is in, will cause oxygen to deplete and thus lowering your PH.

Not only large gatherings of people, but also in the winter months when windows and doors are shut tightly with lesser amounts of fresh air exchange it happens then too.

yea, parties will do that. I have my tank in the living room and the sump in the garage. Even though the only water/air contact in the living room is just the tank surface, it still drops the tank pH just as much like yours.

Agreed, it's all about the high CO2 though. Changing the oxygen concentration doesn't affect pH one way or another.
